Mr Benjamin Lamb
Urological and Robotic Surgeon
Mr Benjamin Lamb is a leading Consultant Urologist and Robotic Surgeon in London, specialising in prostate cancer and urological oncology. He provides comprehensive, patient-centred care across the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers, with particular expertise in robotic prostate surgery and advanced prostate cancer diagnostics.
Mr Lamb provides care throughout the prostate cancer pathway, from initial assessment and PSA testing and risk stratification through to advanced imaging, diagnosis, treatment and long-term surveillance. His expertise includes transperineal MRI-ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy (MRI-guided biopsy), helping to accurately identify and assess prostate cancer and guide appropriate treatment decisions.
He has extensive experience in robotic-assisted prostatectomy using the da Vinci Xi system, including advanced Retzius-sparing and nerve-sparing techniques. These minimally invasive approaches are designed to reduce surgical impact and support recovery, while maintaining a strong focus on both cancer control and functional outcomes.
Mr Lamb also works closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment for patients with complex urological cancers. He is a Lead Clinician for Urological Cancer Specialist Multidisciplinary Teams across North East and North Central London, helping to coordinate integrated cancer care pathways and support evidence-based treatment decisions across multiple NHS trusts.
His specialist training includes advanced experience in urological oncology and robotic surgery, together with international fellowship experience at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, one of the world’s leading specialist cancer centres. This has given him insight into international best practice, emerging technologies and high-volume cancer care.
Mr Lamb is a Prostate Cancer UK Clinical Champion, a Council Member of the Urology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, and was an Executive Committee Member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Oncology Section.
Research
Beyond his clinical duties, Mr Lamb is actively involved in research focused on multidisciplinary cancer teams (MDTs). He has extensively studied decision-making processes, non-technical skills, and leadership within MDTs.
