I’m posting this on behalf of my partner who had prostate cancer surgery. Thankfully, he’s come through it with the all- clear but I am writing this to say that not only did he get - in my opinion- excellent treatment and care- but the after care was genuinely amazing. The doctor, Ben, gave us his number for any questions or concerns and I’m sorry to say that we did take advantage of that. He always replied to our queries quickly, efficiently and in a very friendly manner. If you or anyone you know is about to undergo this procedure, please know you’re in the best of hands. Thank you Ben .

From the initial contact communication has been thorough and constant. I met Mr Ben Lane prior to surgery and he was very reassuring and gave me a sense that I would be safe in his care. The operation went as expected and with minimal discomfort im now a week post op and recovering at speed. I must also state that the staff on the post op ward were attentive and sympathetic. Bring some 300miles from home friendly faces were an huge comfort. Not an experience i wanted but i have only the highest admiration for the urology team, from surgical staff to the health care assistant they were all professional and I felt they gave me the best possible care. Information and support during this stressful time for me and my family. Once again, thank you!

Excellent experience with surgeon Ben Lamb. Great consultation as he really listened to my concerns about the quality-of-life impacts of a prosatectomy at age 53 and suggested an approach to help mitigate them. Ben conducted retsius-sparing surgery and after two weeks I have full continence and regaining sexual function. Early days but the operation appears to have been v successful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, especially for younger prostate patients.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Lamb throughout my prostate cancer treatment. I first met him through the NHS, where he recommended a robotic prostate cancer operation. When I was able to have the procedure privately through my workplace’s health insurance, Dr. Lamb was incredibly helpful in ensuring everything moved as quickly as possible.

From our initial discussion about the operation to the surgery itself, it took less than a month, which was remarkable and greatly reduced the stress of waiting. I am very grateful for Dr. Lamb’s professionalism, efficiency, kindness, and support throughout the process. Thank you, Dr. Lamb, and the team at King Edward Hospital for the excellent care I received. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing specialist urological care.

I highly recommend Mr Benjamin Lamb. Following my prostate cancer diagnosis, he provided a professional, friendly, and reassuring approach to my care. He gave clear explanations of my treatment options and even recommended I speak with another specialist about focal therapy to ensure I made a fully informed decision, with no pressure.
I ultimately decided to proceed with surgery, with Mr Lamb performing a Retzius-sparing robotic radical prostatectomy with a NeuroSAFE frozen section at King Edward VII's Hospital.
My post-operative recovery has gone very well, and Mr Lamb has closely monitored my progress throughout. He is a highly skilled surgeon who genuinely listens to his patients. You are in very safe hands with him and his team.

I couldn’t be more delighted with the treatment that I received from Ben Lamb and the staff at King Edward VII's Hospital. The entire experience felt very professional but also friendly and supportive. It was fantastic to have direct access to Ben via WhatsApp, and he explained everything clearly and confidently, which put my mind at rest.

I did a lot of research, as my dad had really suffered when he had treatment for his prostate, and I was worried about the side effects. A lot of people offer robotic surgery, but in addition to this, Ben does retzius sparing with neurosafe frozen section analysis and a suprapubic catheter. Most importantly, he’s very experienced and does lots of these operations. All of this will have contributed to my successful outcome.

Amazingly, I had zero loss of sexual function. Everything has worked as normal straight after the operation! My bladder is also working as normal. I am completely confident that I can hold it quite comfortably as long as I need to, just like before. I realise this is a best-case scenario, but I am sure it has been made possible by Ben’s skill and experience, as well as the facilities available at King Edward VII's Hospital.

I feel very lucky and grateful to have found Ben. A big thank you from me and my family!

I was referred to Ben Lamb in March 2024 following a prostate cancer diagnosis (which all began with an abnormal PSA result in December 2023). From my very first meeting with Ben, I was put completely at ease - he answered every question I had and more with such a kind, caring, and direct manner. He is such an exceptional communicator.

His guidance enabled me to assess my options, and I decided to proceed with a Robotic Radical Prostatectomy which was scheduled for July. Before, during, and after the surgery, Ben was incredible. The surgery was flawless - I was discharged from hospital after 24 hours, regained urinary control after 4 days, and was exercising again after 4 weeks. A subsequent PSA test showed levels are now undetectable.

Throughout this journey, I have truly felt in the best possible hands. I cannot recommend Ben highly enough - he is truly amazing. Thank you so much Ben!

I was referred to Benjamin Lamb upon discovering that my PSA reading had risen above zero following a radical prostatectomy. He took the time to field all of my questions and provide me with measured and detailed advice in a way which made it very clear that his knowledge and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer is comprehensive. In particular, he is obviously thoroughly conversant with current developments and the latest research relevant to prostate cancer. He explained the various treatment options, the benefits and risks of each and gave me very clear guidance as to the best approach. I had previously consulted other doctors, but none matched Mr Lamb’s self-evident expertise. I recommend him without reservation - if you want the best, go to Benjamin Lamb.

So, today is an important day for me. Exactly one year ago, I was heading into theatre for my prostatectomy under the care and skill of Ben Lamb. I guess if you are reading this, you (or someone you know) has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. My journey started in Feb 2023 after a slightly high PSA was reported from a routine health check. After the MRI and Biopsy tests, I was advised my Gleason score of 4 plus 3. The following months of appointments and excessive google investigations left me feeling confused and scared. Trying to decide on surgery or radiotherapy seemed an impossible choice, as they both had side effects that I hadn't anticipated at the age of 63. But then my luck changed. I found an amazing man called Ben Lamb and after one consultation, I opted to have robot assisted surgery on the 27th July 2023. Ben was outstanding in his bedside manner, and his calm and caring nature put me at ease. The operation went well and he was able to perform the latest nerve-saving treatment to preserve bladder and erectile function. After the operation, he called both my kids to let them know I was doing fine. I am happy to report that my post-op PSA levels are around 0.02. I have never had wet pad , in fact I stopped using pads one week after the catheter was removed. I go out for a few pints and sometimes don't even use the loo before walking home. I rarely wake in the night. Other gentlemanly functions are also working well (enough said!) I am back in the gym and looking forward to early retirement and living life to the full.

So Ben is, and will always be, my absolute hero. His advice and surgical skills have given me a life I didn't dare dream about. Obviously, every case is different and I was lucky to have the choice of surgery. If you have decided to go the surgical route, I would thoroughly recommend Ben and the team at St. Barts. To anyone reading this review who has received the bad news, I wish you well and hope you have a succesful outcome. Stay positive and stay strong.

To Ben, from me, my partner and my family, huge thank you for everything and keep up the great work you do for 'us guys'

Had an excellent service from the doctor for both my initial consultation and follow-up with Mr Lamb. I travelled some distance to my appointment with him and he was very supportive in minimising the amount of travel I had to make by helping arrange all checks/scans done on the same day.
Initial analyses of some of the early results were promptly provided and the communication of other results and clinical notes details were excellent. I was greatly reassured by the professionalism and expertise displayed. Highly recommend Mr Lamb.

I had managed to avoid surgery, and hospitals to a large extent for 60 years until very recently. My robotic assisted prostatectomy procedure was well explained in advance, and well executed on the day. I was put at ease and very well looked after by Mr Lamb and his team. His positive attitude did 'rub off' on me and I could help but feel that positivity. Thank you.
